My kitchen is large enough to have an island. Why the builder did not build one is beyond me. So I think I am going to try my D.I.Y. hand at building one myself.
This cabinet is one that I already have.

It has been in my daughter storage unit for the past year and before that she was using it in her apartment. Now that I have it back I am going to build it up and make an island. It needs to be raised about 4 inches to the same height as the counters. I have no clue how I am going to do that. I am also going to extent it on two sides. I think. I know I want to make the top longer.
I also want it a wild off color from my kitchen.
I am open to any help and suggestions as to how to accomplish this.
